What to Expect When You Book a Bespoke Joinery Project

Booking a bespoke joinery project might feel like a big step! especially if you’ve never done it before. Whether you're considering custom wardrobes, alcove units, a media wall, or under stair storage, knowing what to expect can make the process smooth, stress-free, and even enjoyable.

Here’s how it typically works, from first contact to final installation.

Initial Enquiry

The process begins when you get in touch. Whether through our contact page, email, or social media, it helps to share as much information as possible about your project. This could include rough ideas, sketches, inspiration photos, measurements, or even room dimensions. The more details you provide, the better we can understand your vision and tailor our advice from the start.

Whether you have a fully designed plan or just a rough concept, we’re here to help.

Site Visit & Consultation

Next, we arrange a home visit to see the space, take detailed measurements, and discuss your needs. We talk through functionality, style, materials, finishes, and layout ideas — all based on how you actually use your home.

This is also a great time for you to ask questions or share inspiration photos.

Design & Estimate

After the site visit, we create a custom design proposal tailored to your needs. This includes:

  • A clear breakdown of the scope of work

  • Material and finish choices

  • A rough timeline

  • Detailed CAD designs to help you visualise the final look

  • A total cost estimate

You’ll receive this detailed estimate first, giving you full transparency on pricing and options. From there, you can decide whether to proceed with the project — no pressure, just clear information to help you make the right choice for your home and budget.

Build & Spray Finish

Once your design is approved, the real craftsmanship begins. Each piece of your fitted furniture is carefully built by hand in our workshop using high-quality materials such as durable Finnsa MDF, known for its stability and smooth finish.

Our process focuses on precision and quality at every stage. The components are cut, assembled, and meticulously prepared before moving on to the finishing stage. We use a professional spray finish technique, which offers a beautiful even coating that is far superior to brush-painted surfaces.

This spray finish is not only beautiful but also durable, providing resistance to most scratches, moisture, and everyday wear and tear.

By finishing pieces off-site in our dedicated workshop, we greatly reduce dust, noise, and mess in your home during the installation process. This approach means most of the cutting, assembling, and spray finishing happens away from your living space, so when we arrive for fitting, it’s a quick, clean, and efficient job. Minimizing on-site work not only protects your home from damage and dirt but also means less disruption to your daily routine, letting you enjoy your new fitted furniture sooner and with less hassle.

Every detail, from edges and joints to handles and hinges, is double-checked to ensure perfect fit and function. This commitment to craftsmanship guarantees your bespoke furniture will look stunning and perform well for years to come.

Professional Installation

When it’s ready, we’ll arrange a fitting date that suits you. Our small team arrives on time, installs everything with care, and leaves the space tidy. We take pride in delivering a seamless, built-in look that’s ready to use when the install is complete.

Aftercare & Follow-Up

We stand by our work. If you have any questions after the project is completed, or need advice on future joinery ideas, we’re always happy to help. Many of our clients come back for additional pieces once they see the difference bespoke furniture makes.

Final Thoughts

Booking a bespoke joinery project should feel simple and rewarding. You’re not just ordering furniture — you’re working with a craftsman to improve your home in a meaningful way.
